MINI has announced that the manual transmission is making a comeback for 2021 after being absent for 2020MY.
MINIs manual gearbox has been a fan favourite for quite some time. Its perfectly spaced out gear ratios and short-throw shifting created that excitement in consumers that they expected. Buyers of the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S in both the three and five-door variants will have the opportunity to push down that third pedal once again. The 3-door with the John Cooper Works trim is also marked down to have the manual. However, the 2021 John Cooper Works GP that features 301 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque will be left off the list. This is because the 8-speed automatic has been perfectly engineered to pair with this powertrain. It was designed to take all that power and transfer it to the road effectively and efficiently.
