The 2021 MINI Cooper 1499 GT offers an abundance of power under its little hood. The familiar 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine provides an astonishing 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque. The top speed of 240 km/h will have you planted to the back of your seat. Only 30 copies well come equipped with a traditional 6-speed manual transmission, while the next 120 will come with a quick shifter seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Design of 2021 Mini Cooper 1499 GT
From the outside, the 2021 MINI Cooper 1499 GT pays homage to the MINI 1275 GT from 1969. Though the original came with a gold exterior paint job and black side graphics, the 1499 puts a new spin on the original colour scheme. The black paint job is complemented by a black grille, black door handles, black headlight rings, and other black accents. It also receives the John Cooper Works special front bumper, side skirts, split spoiler, and door entry plates. The 17-inch black wheels complete the whole package.
Peek inside, and you will find some design cues from the John Cooper Works special edition. Sports seats are finished with cloth and Dinamcia, a unique recyclable microfiber. You will also find black piano accents throughout the cabin with red stitching on the steering wheel.
